What are Vaginal Yeast infections and how it can be treated?

This is the most common issue of women around the globe, and Vaginal Yeast Infection is caused by the Candida Albicans, this is an yeast and considered as the fungus in scientific terms. Candida Albicans live naturally in the women reproductive system along with bacteria and maintains a healthy flora within the urinary system of women. 
When this balance gets disrupted, the fungus can grow excessively and this cause the fungal infection within the female reproductive system. 
The most common causes of this disruption of balance, that cause the yeast infections are,

  • Washing the urinary parts with soap with more frequency.
  • Hormonal Fluctuations.
  • Use of antibiotics for a longer duration.
  • Stress and anxiety.
  • Compromised immunity.
  • Type- 2 Diabetes.
Symptoms of Vaginal Yeast Infections are,
  • Itching within and around the female reproductive part.

  • Pain during Urination and intercourse.
  • A more White and Flakey discharge.
  • Redness and swelling.
  • It may be possible that you have a vaginal yeast infection and it does not produce any symptoms, in such cases it does not require any treatment.
General Practitioners will identify the issue with the external examination and based on the laboratory tests of the vaginal discharge. A candida yeast can easily be identified under a microscope and this will helps in the exact diagnosis of the issue.
Once the issue is properly diagnosed, it can easily be cured by the use of over-the-counter and prescription medications.
Based on your conditions, your doctor will prescribe some vaginal pills or creams, these have the antifungal activity and once the fungus will be eliminated from the urinary tract, the symptoms will subside.
In some cases, your doctor will prescribe the oral treatment as well. The symptoms that are associated with vaginal yeast infections are commonly treated with three days of medications. 
It is advisable to avoid any sexual intercourse during the treatment of vaginal infections.
