Black Magic

Nothing makes a statement like an all-black manicure. Done in high gloss or matte, a black manicure is chic and sophisticated with a little edge. Here, a model backstage at Philipp Plein with almond-shaped black nails. Looking to take your black mani up a notch? Try this geometric pattern that you can achieve with just a few pieces of nail tape. Not feeling an entirely black nail? Add squiggles—painted along the edges of your nails—to a basic nude manicure.

Nail art that's intricate can be impossible to DIY—so embrace big, bold, graphic shapes instead. We love this mix of polishes with a few nails accentuated by big and colorful dots.
